Your employer sends you a Form W-2 that lists the amount of money you earned and the amount of income tax withheld during the year. The amount of income tax your employer withholds depends on 2 things:
How much you earned
The information you provided your employer on the Form W-4: Employees Withholding Allowance Certificate that you filled out
In the Interview, we make sure that all the numbers you enter from your W-2 are properly placed on your return. For help making adjustments to the amount of income tax withheld from your paycheck, see Withholding Allowances.
